Project Title
Time-lapses Presenting Change
Section 1:  Rationale (approx. 100 words)
The past seven units that I have accomplished, I have acquired a lot of knowledge and developed skills. These skills include digital photography in which I have learnt how to create time-lapses, long exposures and 3D animated stills and with all these skills in mind, I will integrate some  of them into my final major project. Before I began this course, I knew the basic features and tools of photoshop such as the different selection tools and the filters. The knowledge that I had before I started the course and what I have learnt since starting the course has led to me deciding to follow a more digital photography pathway for my final major project.
Section 2: Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The main concept of my project is to present the change in environmental factors such as day into night with the sun descending and the darkness falls, sea tides from low tide to high tide or vice versa, public changes from mass amounts of people to people dispersing and changes in time in the form of a short video consisting of time-lapses and long exposure still images. This project is going to take prolonged amount of time so It will take multiple weeks to complete and experiment in that time because I do not want the time-lapses and the stills to be rushed without any pre experimentation to know what needs improving and what does not which would result in an unsuccessful final outcome in the end. It will also be a lengthy process because time-lapses take a long time to shoot and to achieve a good result you need to shoot more frames so that when it comes to editing, it will make the time-lapse look smoother. To assist this, I will need to research photographers that have done similar works to what I am going to do for my final outcome.
Section 3: Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
As I progress through the length of the project, I will record my findings and include write ups in either a sketchbook or a blog for each activity that I complete, talking about what I did, what did not go so well, what went well and what I can improve.

FINAL PIECE PLAN

The plan for my Final Major Project is to gather the best short time-lapses that I have shot over the past eight weeks including experimental and main shoots and compile them into one compilation featuring a chosen piece of music that I think best suits my final piece. I am going to present my work in the college exhibition on a powerful enough computer that can show my final piece titled 'INPERCEIVABLE CHANGES BY THE NAKED EYE' I am going to make sure that the computer monitors are clean so that my final piece can be seen without any imperfections or dirt on the screen.

PRACTICALS SKILLS

Time-lapse 1 (Week 2) This time-lapse was shot with a shutter speed of 1/500's at f11 with the ISO at 100.  I left the camera shooting at an interval of 3 seconds for about 40 minutes with 751 images having been shot. I imported all the images into Lightroom classic cc and used the sync button in order to allow for all changes that I make to one image, to be applied to all the images that Imported into the catalog. I started editing all the images by, increasing the contrast to +22 to really make the clouds stand out. I then decreased the shadows to -65 to lighten the areas of the images that had too much shadow. I increased the whites slightly to +33 which brightened parts of the images. I lowered the blacks to -13 in order to lighten some areas which I thought were too dark. Upping the clarity to +31, made the smaller details within the images, really pop. increasing the vibrance to +33 made the colours more eye catching. I then upped the saturation to +54. After t...

PROBLEM SOLVING

My own experimental shoots (DSLR & Mobile) DSLR: Holy Grail This time-lapse was shot with a shutter speed of 1/400's at f7.1 with the ISO at 400. I left the camera shooting at an interval of 3 seconds for about 40 minutes with 468 images having been shot. I imported all the images into Lightroom classic cc and used the sync button in order to allow for all changes that I make to one image, to be applied to all the images that Imported into the catalog. I started editing all of the images by increasing the c ontrast to +44 which increased the contrast between the blue sky and the different clouds that can be seen.  I then upped the s hadows to +75. This brightened the trees in the foreground so you can see the details a lot more clearly such as the flowers and leaves on the trees. Next, I increased the c larity to +15. This made the smaller details in the sky and the foreground really pop and stand out. I then used the d ehaze tool which I se to +2 which really showe...
